Well, this week Mark went through the basics of breaking down a storyboard for layouts. I'm pretty sure he went through the same kind of thing last year, because alot of it sounded familiar. It's pretty straight forward, I thought, and probably because I remember it from the subject last semester. Oh yeah, and I can't wait to use Antics! If we do... It looks pretty cool... Remember 3D Movie Maker? That was the best program ever, and antics looks kind of the same except with a frame rate higher than 3........ So yeah, I really want to mess around in that. We're also reading a script that we need to breakdown and storyboard part of... I actually haven't read any of it yet, I'll do it tonight I swear!!!
Oh, and for another subject we made flash characters... I suck at drawing in flash, but I guess they turned out OK... I'll make a post with like all of my work soon...

Week 3
Ok, I still haven't scanned my stuff, but I will!
This week we looked at script breakdowns and storyboarding. I found it a bit annoying really to apply the different colours to the script, but I guess it DOES help in the long run. Maybe I was in a bad mood when I was doing it, I dunno. I like reading screenplays though, and trying to visualise all the possibilities of how things can be done. I especially like reading screenplays of movies I've seen and really liked, particularly when the directer isn't the writer, and just seeing the director has made crazy interpretations or added really cool elements.
I like storyboarding as well. I've done a fair bit of storyboarding in another course, but it was more focusing on how to storyboard rather than what shots work and what shots dont. So I love inventing shots for screenplays, I just enjoy messing around with all the different angles and compositions that can be applied until one jumps out. Then I like going through the storyboard and like "playing" the movie in my head - imagination rocks!.....................
But anyway yeah, I did some storyboarding for a screenplay we got in class, and I'll post them as soon as I can! Promise!

Weeks 1 & 2
Ah, first blog entry, so many emotions, how to word them...
The first 2 weeks of pre-production for animation have gone. So far it's my favourite subject, and I can't wait to start the assignment. It helps that Mark is an awesome lecturer/tutor, but the content of the subject just looks reall cool.
I liked the first little piece of 'work' we had to do - the Inn design. It's hard to find good information on Inn's from the era in the story, but I think I found enough. It was good as just a re-introduction to composition and perspective. I really like creating good compositions, and just messing around with what works and what doesn't. I'd ipload the Inn but I don't have scanner and I have the worst internet in the world. Maybe I'll scan and upload some stuff when I'm at uni next.
For now, though, it's goodbye.
